MDM Condemned by the Archbishop of Dublin!

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin

The Archbishop of Dublin has spoken out that the MDM messages are to be avoided by Catholics.  Her messages are officially condemned!

The statement:

STATEMENT OF ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBLIN
ON THE ALLEGED VISIONARY “MARIA DIVINE MERCY”

Requests for clarification have been coming to the Archdiocese of Dublin concerning the authenticity of alleged visions and messages received by a person who calls herself “Maria Divine Mercy” and who may live in the Archdiocese of Dublin.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin wishes to state that these messages and alleged visions have no ecclesiastical approval and many of the texts are in contradiction with Catholic theology.

These messages should not be promoted or made use of within Catholic Church associations.

Kudos, appreciation, and respect go to Catholic theologian Dr. Kelly Bowring for his compliance with the ruling of the Archbishop of Dublin and halting sales of his popular book that uses Maria Divine Mercy messages as a credible source.  The text of Dr. Bowring's message on his book publishing site, "On Wednesday of Holy Week 2014, the Archdiocese of Dublin issued a statement on its website on the writings of the “alleged visionary” Maria Divine Mercy (MDM) stating that the Archbishop wishes to state that “these messages should not be promoted or made use of”. In compliance with this statement, Two Hearts Press and Dr. Bowring will no longer be selling the book, “The Great Battle”, which had “made use of” MDM as a source."

  1. I for one am thankful for Dr. Bowring's actions as many MDM'ers have been emboldened by his promotion of this woman. It does take courage. I wish him and his family well. We all fall flat on our face, especially if we are Christians in motion.

When history closes, it is the complacent and the indifferent who will face Our Lord's most severe reprimand. On both sides of this great divide, occasioned by MDM, we have sincere Catholics who are praying for each other and striving to live upright lives. As long as this remains the case, we can vehemently disagree with each other. All big families experience heated arguments and debates but that doesn't mean their love is lacking. It means they care. Even so, a successor of the apostles has made his judgement as is his duty and the faithful need to obey.

"Canon 823 §1. In order to preserve the integrity of the truths of faith and morals, the pastors of the Church have the duty and right to be watchful so that no harm is done to the faith or morals of the Christian faithful through writings or the use of instruments of social communication. They also have the duty and right to demand that writings to be published by the Christian faithful which touch upon faith or morals be submitted to their judgment and have the duty and right to condemn writings which harm correct faith or good morals."

  2. "We ask the Lord to do for all of us what he did for the disciples who were afraid of joy: to open our minds: ‘He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures;’ Let him open our minds and help us understand that He is a living reality, that He has a body, that He is with us,that He accompanies us and that He has won." Pope Francis, homily, Ap.24/14.

How interesting that the Pope speaks about Christ as a living reality "that has a body." Such a stark contrast with the pretender of his seat, Mary Carberry, who has brazenly taught that the second Advent of Jesus will be quite different from the first because He will not come "in the flesh."

One asks, "Who is preaching false doctrine? Who is rewriting Scripture?"
